A MESSAGE FROM GREAT LAKES PRESIDENT AND CEO, RICHARD D. GEORGE
Getting students to and through college has been the mission of Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation since our beginning in 1967. During that time, we've seen a number of promise programs emerge. However, the often broad implementation of these programs has made it difficult to isolate the impact the promise has made.
The Degree Project's scholarship program and research study — which is the first randomized control trial of a promise scholarship program in the U.S. — were designed to provide evidence as to the efficacy of promise programs. Our aim is to provide insights and answers that educators, grant makers and policy makers can use to help level the playing field and provide greater equity in education.
Research like this has never been more important, as we strive to close the widening education achievement gap that threatens the American Dream. We are proud to be a champion for students across the United States and thank you for your interest.
We look forward to sharing the research study results with you in the future.
